Doing it on your own. This is when you are filing your own case in the courts. It can be very difficult and expensive to get legal aid in a case. I have put together a list below of online legal resource that I hope can help those who are brave enough or determent to fight.  Collateral consequences are the effects of a given action or inaction that are unintended, unknown, or at least not explicit once you have a criminal conviction.  Class B and C misdemeanors and felony  convictions can be used against you later in your life. Even years after you have done your time and paid for your crime.  You will be punished for the rest of your life.

Most employers and apartments run background checks on potential employees and potential tenants, and some either by mistake or on purpose may overlook Texas 7/10 Rule 

7 years for credit checks

10 years for A or B misdemeanor 

20 years for a felony
